A new chapter begins for NAU

This June, we proudly marked a major milestone: our official European debut at the prestigious 3daysofdesign festival in Copenhagen. Hosted at the beautiful Galerie Mikael Andersen, our exhibition introduced the essence of contemporary Australian design to an international audience – and what a welcome it was!

Why Copenhagen? Why 3daysofdesign?

Copenhagen has long been a beacon of design excellence, where tradition meets innovation, and where design is seamlessly woven into the fabric of everyday life. For NAU, a brand rooted in craftsmanship, materiality, and a relaxed yet refined aesthetic, launching in this city felt like a natural step.

We chose 3daysofdesign as the moment to introduce NAU to Europe because it’s more than just a design festival—it’s a celebration of ideas, creativity, and connection. The 2025 theme, “KEEP IT REAL,” resonated deeply with our own values: authenticity, simplicity, and a commitment to meaningful design. The festival’s open, inclusive atmosphere provided the perfect platform to share our story and engage with a global audience that appreciates thoughtful, well-crafted design.

By launching in Copenhagen during this event, we weren’t just showcasing our products – we were joining a broader conversation about the future of design, and proudly representing the voice of contemporary Australian creativity on the international stage.

A Showcase of Australian Creativity

Our exhibition was a celebration of Australian design – past, present, and future – brought to life through a thoughtfully curated selection of pieces that reflect NAU’s evolving journey.

New Launches: Cove & Nola

At the heart of our presentation were two standout debuts by Tom Fereday: the Cove Collection and the Nola Table Light. The Cove armchair and coffee table, with their sweeping timber curves and sculptural elegance, drew admiration for their architectural inspiration and refined craftsmanship.

Meanwhile, the Nola light – crafted from hand-cast crystal glass and honed stone – glowed softly in the gallery space, its concealed light source creating a warm, ambient atmosphere that captivated visitors.

Recent Highlights: Billo

Also turning heads was the Billo Sofa System by Adam Goodrum. With its billowing forms, relaxed tailoring, and cloud-like comfort, Billo brought a sense of playful sophistication to the space. It’s a recent addition to our range, but already a favourite – embodying the comfort and approachability that define NAU’s design philosophy.

Iconic Designs: A Legacy of Craft

Alongside these new and recent launches, we showcased some of the most iconic pieces from our collection, each one a testament to the enduring appeal of Australian design. The Molloy seriesFat Tulip Armchair, and Aran Sofa by Adam Goodrum offered a masterclass in elegance and versatility, while the Sia Chair and Nami Armchair and Side Table by Tom Fereday highlighted the seamless blend of form and function. The Plum ChairBilgola Daybed, and Nest Tables rounded out the display, each piece contributing to a cohesive narrative of thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship.

We were honoured to have both Tom Fereday and Adam Goodrum join us in Copenhagen, offering visitors a chance to meet the minds behind the designs and gain insight into their creative processes.
